Well, here's an early warning test of the Conservative Broadcasting System.
It seems that Barbara Boxer, liberal Senator from California might be dueling in a face off with conservative Carly Fiorina in next year's Senatorial quest. Ex CEO of HP, Foirina has her very own war chest full of greenery, a severance gift from the big giant computer company.
Some of you may know that the controversial Fiorina was asked to leave HP, but with a sizeable exit package a few years ago, nearly 21 million dollars. She is currently battling breast cancer (and we wish her the best and a speedy recovery) so there is no word forthcoming just yet about her plans to run against Boxer.
Recently, however, Firoina played a big part in McCain's campaign, and some say, without any confirmation, that she was annoyed that he picked Palin rather than her as his running mate. She is known in these parts as a very assertive and um, outspoken conservative. This is a link to one of my favorite NPR interviews with Fiorina that kind of speaks to her ability to, well, show how much smarter she is than the
I cannot say that I have run across many who enjoy her company. And some of you may recall the PI scandal that hit HP on the tail of her watch as CEO. And continued on for many years after.
Stay tuned. It should be interesting.

If Carly runs, she won't get any votes from HP employees (or ex-HP employees), we hated her and what she did to our company. Of course I would have voted for Boxer anyway.
Gratefuldan - I certainly have heard that from people here. If you haven't heard the NPR interview, listen in. Even the NPR reporter was taken aback at the end.
Oh, thanks for this! Boxer is beyond awful. And Firoina is too! I tried reading Firoina's memoir a few years ago and couldn't get beyond page 10 and gave it to goodwill. Politics has absolutely hit a new low with these two. Rated.
Fiorina earnestly tried to tell us that Sarah Palin was "qualified" to be VP.
Need I say more? She also took a great company like HP and did to it what Dubya did to the country.
I wouldn't vote for Carly Fiorina if California were flooded with piss and she promised everyone a tree house.

Fiorina is a fraud. If I were Boxer, and she were my opponent, I'd pound her for the shady stuff that went on at Lucent when she was the CEO there. Lots of accounting gimmicks to goose revenue took place on her watch. I'd tie her to Enron-like accounting practices.
And just when she started to recover, I'd pound her with her pathetic run as the head of HP and say we can't afford to let her do to the country what she did to Lucent and HP.
I'd use her perceived strength -- her so-called business expertise -- against her.
And I'd be merciless and make her penniless.

The way to take down Fiorina is to attack her with labels that will put her on the defensive real quick.
Call her a CEO who engaged in Enron style accounting and AIG style golden parachutes. Link her to corporate scandals, which is something that can be done because she was at Lucent during the time when it was doing shady revenue booking and she oversaw an AIG like implosion of the stock price of HP.
Link her to that, and she'll lose all of her golden parachute from exiting HP trying to run for the Senate and she'll get bitch slapped.
