ain't it great being billionaires?
Meet Meg Whitman, actually.   Former CEO of Ebay and billionaire, apparently she suffers from the same inarticulate affliction that Caroline Kennedy did in her interviews.  While Kennedy used "you know" until we all fell asleep, Whitman uses "actually" and it seems to make some wonder if she actually might be out of her depth.  It grates a little bit like "u-betcha" from someone we all know a little too well.
Since leaving Ebay, Whitman announced her potential candidacy.   Her other republican contenders had offered to debate early on, but it seemed Whitman had literally disappeared.
Right after announcing a good two years before the race, she was woefully underwhelming in her ability to discuss the issues in early interviews.  So much so, that there has been a smattering of chatter lately that makes it sound like the word Palin-like might best describe Whitman the politician v. Whitman the business person.
Today, John McCain announced that he will endorse Whitman as the conservative nominee for the Governor's race, even though she still has not formally announced her candidacy.  Former Governor Pete Wilson is acting as her campaign manager.
In addition, Whitman supported P8 much to the surprise of Ebay employees who had no idea their former CEO was against gay marriage.  Turns out her stance is probably more aligned with her support of Romney, a former boss, and then McCain, rather than her personal view, since she has stated that she supports the rights of gays to adopt and to have civil unions (whatever that is).
Perhaps now is the time to divide California into East and West states.  Whitman can have East California as long as she leaves Yosemite alone.

Hmmmm, the last time McCain selected a woman for high office, he gave us........
.....nevermind (to quote Emily Latella).

h'mm wondering how the odds are selling on eBay.
I remember McCain being gaga over her during his campaign. I'm still incredulous that anyone supported P8. It sickens me. Thanks for this post...I hadn't heard this.
Walter, absolutely! She, who shall not be named....

MM - that was hilarious.

mtk - yeah, remember when he said she would be his finance czar and O said that Buffet would be his? I just about gagged when McCain said that cause that very day Ebay had cut a zillion jobs. Yep, she supported the anti opposite marriage.... some people just don't know when to quit while they are billions ahead.
Oh, the sound you hear is me retching. I'm so anti-Whitman. Thanks for this piece.
Saturn (of skype (an ebay company) fame!) - Glad you didn't retch on the video! Seriously, she does have the affect on people. She also lives relatively close to me, but alas, in the billionaire zip code which is not my zip!
It's amazing how the left lines up against a woman of achievement in the real world who has the misfortune not to be member of some minority group. But attacking her speaking abilities? Have you heard our present governor lately? The guy who has brought California to its fiscal knees and who is now threatening to close national parks there.
"woman of achievement"

ROTFLMAO
This had flown under my radar. Kind of wish it still was. I don't know if I can handle another incompetent woman running for a major office. Rated for sheer hilariousness.
Gordon - I join in worrying about Arnold, but I also know Whitman's achievements in Silicon Valley to be mediocre rather than stellar. In addition, as one of the links points out, just because she was successful with Ebay (to a point) does not translate into her being Governor material. I hope others come forward who are better suited and I don't care which affiliation they come from - we need competence and a centrist.

markinjapan - right time, right place, right investors. that's it pretty much.

RenaissanceLady - she still hasn't really announced formally. but should be interesting. there are better republican candidates so that should help.
Emily Latella. That' s who I endorse. Or, we can trace you Patti Blagoivitch for Meg?
Haha Roger. Wasn't she cloned in Los Angeles?
California is going to fall in the ocean anyway (jk to my CA friends). You got to admit that CA has a long history of electing some pretty weird govs. She is truly a sad piece of work.
Maybe John McCain, Meg Whitman, and Carly Fiorina can all get together and have some kind of sick threesome ... icky, icky, icky ~

and while I'm being icky, let's divide Sarah Palin into east and west parts and throw her in the ocean ...

I sound testy, don't I ... lol
meg whitman ebay mogel? everybody needs money these days? everybody seems to be following the money these days ? like sarha palin she belongs to this famous quote "ambition is an idol on whose wings great minds are carried only to extreme
to be sublimely great or to be nothing" w. s. yooha67
Since when does someone have to be articulate to be governor of California?
She ran a virtual company, now maybe she'll be a virtual politician. Poor choice, most business people are unsucessful politicians. Example: George W.Bush.
grif - it IS falling into the ocean. I almost have oceanfront property after 20 years just be waiting patiently. And agreed - we certainly have had our share of odd ducks.

Ann - a 3-some...ick and more ick. But as long as they are in East California, what can I say?

hooya67 - I like that quote!

jim - now that made me laugh. true.

OE - now that was funny. she is pretty much virtual since the media can't find her to get an interview. and I totally agree.
